Paterna City Council is preparing an industrial Geographic Information System that will improve the management of its 5 business areas and regulate in an “intelligent” way the more than 1,600 companies installed in the city.
This was announced today by the Mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo during the meeting held with the media and in which he was accompanied by the Coordinator of Economic Promotion, José Mª Martínez.
The Mayor has indicated that the implementation of this system, which will be one of the most complete in Spain due to the large amount of data it will offer as an application that will detail the geographical information of the business areas of the city, and taht Will be accompanied by a exhaustive file with information of each company, its activity, number of employees, quality certifications, patents, needs in terms of raw materials, the type of waste and by-products generated ... The application will offer the possibility of cross-checking for suppliers, nearby competing companies or promoting the so-called circular economy (taking advantage of waste so that they can become raw materials for other companies). All this requires exhaustive fieldwork that will last several months, and in which the City Council has started working.
The new Industrial Geographic Information System will be implemented throughout 2018 and will be a live and open tool through the website www.paternaciudaddeempresas.es, and will favor the management of Business Areas by the City Council and its Management Entities, acting as instrument that will generate synergies between the companies in the industrial estates and also contribute to the promotion of "Paternal, City of Business" in the city through the display of detailed information that allows companies that want to establish in Paterna to know everything about its industrial activity, including available lots and warehouses.
Likewise, the Mayor, who has been very excited about the project, has stated that “this new system is one more step in the business and employment promotion policy that we are carrying out from the Paterna City Council to promote the potential industrial district.
Once implemented, businessmen or representatives of the business áreas will be able to contribute to complement and enrich the GIS.
