The new Industrial Geographic Information System, which will be implemented throughout 2018 and will be one of the most complete in the country, will be hosted on the website of Paterna City of Business.
- Juan Antonio Sagredo: "This Industrial Geographical Information System is one more step in the business policy and promotion of employment that we are carrying out from the City Council to promote the industrial potential of Paterna.".
- The new tool will provide exhaustive information on companies and workers in each of the 5 industrial areas, such as quality certifications, patents or the type of waste it generates.
The Paterna City Council is preparing an industrial Geographic Information System that will improve the management of its 5 business areas and regulate in an “intelligent” way the more than 1,300 firms installed there.
This was announced today by the Mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo during the meeting held with the media and in which he was accompanied by the municipal technician for Economic Promotion, José María Martínez.
Sagredo stressed that “this tool, which will be open through the website www.paternaciudaddeempresas.es, will offer a complete photograph of the companies and workers in each of the Paterna industrial parks and will favor their management by the City Council, contributing to the promotion of the city and will act as an instrument of union between the companies”.
In this regard, the mayor has indicated that the implementation of this system, which will be pioneer in Spain due to the large amount of data it will offer, requires exhaustive fieldwork, which is already being worked on by the City Council itself, because “we intend to go beyond the dimensions of the industrial estates, throwing information on the number of workers in each company, the quality certifications, patents or the type of waste it generates, among other things”.
Sagredo explained that Paterna's industrial GIS, which is in the process of preparing technical specifications, will be very agile and intuitive and is expected to be implemented throughout 2018.
Likewise, the Mayor, who has been very excited about the project, has stated that “this new system is one more step within the business and employment promotion policy that we are carrying out from the Paterna City Council to promote the potential industrial of the municipality”.
Finally, Sagredo has also recalled some of the initiatives that are being carried out by the Business Area, which he personally directs, such as the signing of agreements with each of the business areas - something that has never been done before-, the recent signing of the Local Pact for Paterna Innovation or the next creation of a working group in the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI) of Industry 4.0 that will be led by Paterna.
