The Valencian company that mainly manufactures citrus juicers, is increasing its capacity and plans to move its headquarters and part of its facilities, now in Moncada, in a couple of years.
Zumex has just acquired a plot of land in Tactical Business Park of Paterna (Valencia), to which it plans to move in approximately two years.
The firm has purchased 20,000 square meters. It is currently in the process of preparing the projects. Approximately 5,000 meters of offices are going to be built, and over 7,000 meters for of operations and manufacturing área.
"Today, doubling would be enough," explains the general director, Víctor Bertolín in the short term. But teh way we are evolving, and where we are going in innovation, all the energy we are channeling towards new products, Will force us to have different facilities after three years. That is why we have already started the process.
We want to maintain a ratio of twenty square meters per employee. "We like the feeling of space."
The investment planned in these facilities is about twelve million euros, between the cost of the land and the construction. The current facilities - which were built in 2009 - will not be abandoned, since the industrial division, which is growing, could be established in them.
Zumex ended last year with a turnover of 26.2 million euros, compared to the 17.3 million of the previous year, representing an increase of 51.4 percent. Initial estimations for the current year are 28 million, but they already point out that they could be significantly exceeded.
Last year, the company started a collaboration with Mercadona, which has established Zumex machines in stores to sell freshly squeezed juice.
Of the three divisions that Zumex has, the bulk of the business is in Food & retail, which sells machines for bars and supermarkets, with sales of 24.7 million. The industrial company, which builds turnkey projects for juice manufacturing plants, accounted for 1.4 million, and the rest corresponds to the vending machine division.
By area, the US market takes the majority of international sales, with 25% of Zumex's total turnover. It is followed by France, with 2.3 million euros, and Mexico which is close to one million.
