Yesterday, the plenary session of Paterna City Council unanimously approved the Paterna Local Pact for Innovation, a city strategy through which the City Council will promote and lead as the engine of socioeconomic development of the town, along with the main economic and social agents of the region.
It will be valid for two years from its signature and may be tacitly extended for two more years. Among its signatories will be, in addition to the Mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo, the regional councilor for Sustainable Economy, the Productive Sector, Commerce and Labor, Rafa Climent; the rector of the University of Valencia, Esteban Morcillo; the rector of the Universitat Politècnica, Francisco Mora Mas; the president of the Valencian Business Confederation, Salvador Navarro, the secretary of CCOO of the Valencià Country, Arturo León, and the general secretary of the UGT in Valencia, Ismael Sáez, among many others.
This initiative is part of the roadmap set by the local government to turn Paterna into a Smart City, regional and state epicenter of business innovation, thus consolidating itself as an Intelligent and Competitive Economic Zone.
The Pact, which is part of the Local Development Strategy promoted a year ago to create in Paterna a favorable economic, social and academic environment that facilitates entrepreneurship and R & D & i, has among its priorities to promote the development of business innovation as the engine of the municipality's development, consolidating Paterna as a smart city.
"This pact will make Paterna a benchmark for an innovative and intelligent city," said Juan Antonio Sagredo, Mayor of Paterna and responsible for the areas of Business, University and Industrial Estates.
The first mayor recalled that "one of the main bets of this legislature is the promotion of business in industry 4.0, the development of business innovation, the support and consolidation of the association 'Paterna, Ciudad de Empresas', as well as the implementation of concrete actions to consolidate Paterna as a benchmark for an innovative and intelligent city”.
